Hello, my name is Jamarcus South. I am the owner and founder of JTS CLOTHING, which I started in 2017.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road; it’s been a journey—a learning curve for sure. In business, things never go as planned. The sooner you accept that, the better it will get for you.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Creativity is what I love: being able to create something on a piece of fabric that others like, resonate with it, and add their own perspective to it. It’s a beautiful thing.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
Yes, I’m a big risk-taker. I bet on me. I don’t mimic or try to copy someone else’s work; I’m original. It’s easy to follow someone else’s blueprint, but creating something that hasn’t been done—you have no idea how the public will receive it. However, it has no ceiling, no competition. Just take the risk, and when it catches, the sky is the limit.
