Exploring Life & Business with Dr. Christopher Chance of Oaks Point Pediatric Dentistry and Oaks Point Orthodontics

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Christopher Chance.

Hi Dr. Christopher, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My path started when I was a junior in High School living in Lexington, Kentucky and I needed community service hours to graduate. I frequented the Saturday Morning Dental Clinic at the University of Kentucky where the dental students organize and treat children who did not have dental insurance for free. I helped by being an assistant for the dental students, and from that incredible experience, I knew I wanted to be a Pediatric Dentist.

I graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2010 and then went to dental school at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry in 2014. In 2016, I completed a 2-year Pediatric Dentistry residency at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH.

After residency I moved to Houston where I worked in various offices before opening Oaks Point Pediatric Dentistry in 2020. We have since expanded and opened Oaks Point Orthodontics in August 2026. We are located in the neighborhood of Garden Oaks/Oak Forest.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The path worth taking is seldom straight, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. From challenges with school and clinical examinations, to opening a new office 6 months into the COVID-19 pandemic, to major changes to family dynamics, the process to this point has been filled with experiences that have forced me to grow, adapt and persevere.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Having mentors is vital to navigating entrepreneurship. Leveraging their time and experience has been extremely helpful in determining my path. I identified people who I admired along the way that I knew would give me honest feedback and would challenge my approach at every turn. Being challenged allowed me to fortify my game plan without having to go through as many experiences in order to learn first hand.
