Meet Vincent Fink of Point506 in Winter St. Studio in the Arts District and Katy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Vincent Fink.

.506 was founded around early 2011 by Vincent and Tina Lara, two graphic designers who worked at the same print shop. Vincent left for better pay and found himself in a hostile work environment and had to walk out leaving himself with nothing… except for a dream. Tina helped in every way make that dream a legitimate business and starting with only a small run of 24 shirts, they have steadily worked without tire, pushing the investments like a snowball down a mountain growing with each turn. The company is a love affair between two designers that have never gotten a break in their endeavors. It’s a promise that things will someday work out. That something small and seemingly insignificant can change the greater system. That is the butterfly effect.
That is point506.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It is still a challenge managing the minutia of everyday business. Complicated tax filings are time-consuming. Finding production products that are made in America and are still affordable is tough but important to us.

Please tell us about Point506.
We enhance people’s lives and raise public scientific literacy by making clothing that is cool, yet smart. Not your average nerdy t-shirt line.

Our mission is simple; to clothe a general populous with intelligent designs that will stimulate an engagement in the sciences.

Point 506 is a Houston-based indie clothing brand focusing on the intersection of art and science, incorporating sacred geometry, today’s leading theories, famous scientists and their contributions along with other intriguing artistic and scientific concepts in a truly unique style. Currently, stocked in multiple boutiques across the USA and worldwide.

Point 506 is also a graphic design mammoth, producing graphics unparalleled by any other shop in Houston. Specializing in custom apparel designs and illustration ranging from metal band merchandise to church retreat shirts to commercial business identity. Our designers have worked with some of the largest organizations in the USA so we kind of know what we’re doing.

Also known for producing some otherwise impossible screen-prints using highly sophisticated color-separation techniques. When your guy says it can’t be printed, we’re the ones who pick up the slack and you’ll never go back!
