Today we’d like to introduce you to Timothy Taylor.
Hi Timothy, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
The Navy Years (1999–2007)
In 1999, I enlisted in the United States Navy with a clear vision: I wanted to serve my country, provide for my family, pursue my education, and open up new opportunities for the future. I served on active duty through 2005 and continued in the inactive reserves until 2007.
The Challenge of Coming Home
Like so many of my fellow veterans, returning to civilian life was far from easy. I struggled with physical injuries, mental health challenges, and the sheer difficulty of navigating the transition back home. For years, I fought through the Veterans Administration (VA) system with very little success. It was frustrating and overwhelming, but I kept pushing. Eventually, my persistence paid off, and I received full recognition for my service-related disabilities.
That long, difficult road—marked by both hardship and healing—ignited something inside me. I realized I didn’t want other veterans to have to walk that path alone.
Founding Taylor Veteran Services (2021)
In 2021, I founded Taylor Veteran Services (TVS) to help fellow service members navigate the overwhelming process of accessing the benefits they’ve earned. It started simply—just helping a few friends who needed guidance. But as word spread, it quickly grew into a mission much larger than I ever imagined.
Where I Am Today
Everything we do at TVS is rooted in core values: structure, discipline, accountability, and faith. We empower veterans through education, direct guidance, and relentless advocacy. Today, I’m proud to walk alongside my brothers and sisters in arms as a trusted guide, and the impact of our community speaks for itself:
Veterans Supported: We’ve helped over 495 veterans navigate the VA system.
100% P&T Recognition: Over 87 veterans we’ve served have achieved 100% Permanent and Total VA Disability Compensation.
Community Impact: Our work has directed over $4 million in annual disability income to veterans and their families, restoring financial stability and peace of mind.
My story is built on perseverance. It’s proof that no matter how hard the transition gets, with the right support, discipline, and advocacy, every veteran can reclaim their confidence, stability, and hope.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has not been smooth. I believe I have found my purpose because I’ve faced the trials and tribulations of life that have brought me wisdom, experience, and understanding through the disability process and my time as a veteran. If I hadn’t endured six years of trauma in the military and fifteen years navigating the system afterward, I wouldn’t have been able to help as many people as I have in the past five years.
It has been a struggle to learn the process for myself and additionally to learn how to assist others. One of my conditions, insomnia, leads to challenges with memory and social engagement. There were also times when I had to accept that some claims would be denied while helping veterans with their appeals.
I remained persistent, encouraging them to keep going—attending doctor’s appointments and re-filing their claims—because without this dedication, they might never achieve the 100% permanent and total rating they deserve. This rating is critical for veterans whose conditions have worsened, adversely affecting their quality of life and ability to earn an income.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
What I Do & What I Specialize In
I am the founder of Taylor Veteran Services (TVS), an organization born out of my own lived experiences. After serving in the United States Navy from 1999 to 2005 (and in the inactive reserves until 2007), I spent years navigating the often-overwhelming Veterans Administration system to get my own service-related disabilities recognized.
Today, I specialize in helping my fellow veterans navigate that exact same system. TVS provides education, guidance, and dedicated advocacy to ensure veterans can successfully access the benefits and compensation they have rightfully earned. What started out as simply helping a few friends has grown into a structured, transformative network.
What I Am Most Proud Of
I am incredibly proud of the tangible, life-changing impact we have made for the veteran community. To date, TVS has supported over 500 veterans, including more than 87 individuals who have achieved 100% Permanent and Total VA Disability Compensation.
Beyond the numbers, this work has brought over $4.1 million in annual disability income to the veterans we serve. Seeing this economic stability flow back to these individuals, their families, and their communities—restoring their peace of mind and hope—is the greatest achievement of my career.
What Sets Me Apart From Others
What sets TVS apart is that I don’t just understand the process from an administrative standpoint; I understand it from a deeply personal one. Like many veterans, my own transition to civilian life was marked by physical injuries and mental health struggles. I know exactly what it feels like to face hardship and feel lost in the system.
I don’t operate as a distant consultant. I walk alongside the veterans who come to us as a trusted guide, an advocate, and a true brother-in-arms.
How do you define success?
True success is not a metric of material accumulation, nor is it validated by the size of one’s social circle. External wealth and transient associations are inherently volatile, capable of vanishing in an instant.
Instead, genuine success is an internal state of being. It is realized when an individual identifies their existential purpose, achieves profound contentment, and maintains absolute peace with their daily choices. This alignment serves as the enduring catalyst for life engagement.
By seeking higher guidance—from God and the Universe—to discern one’s true calling, an individual aligns with their destiny. The result of this alignment is a transcendent peace that surpasses human understanding—a sovereign state of mind that no earthly force can diminish or strip away. When you reach this space, you have achieved success.
