Today we’d like to introduce you to Exzavior Thomas.
Hi Exzavior, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
It Started back in like 2017 with Me and 2 of my close friends/bros King Patt & Juice just on the video game critiquing things that were going on in Texas culture as if we were on a podcast. Then in 2018 I started watching and studying other platforms like breakfast club, drink champs and no jumper and was thinking like hey we need something like this for Houston but not just Houston but Texas itself cause we have nothing like it. The closest thing we had at that moment of a platform doing interviews was “real life street stars” and that was a station in Dallas. So I started planning to create my own platform but was going to start it off as a podcast first. like drink champs and no jumper then later down the line turn it into a big platform as breakfast club & revolt tv. so the year 2019 I started gathering/buying all the equipment to record, edit etc. for us to become an official podcast. Then me and my two cohost King Patt & Juice did our first recording/episode Sept.30.2019 and uploaded that to the YouTube page EnoughTalkPodcast. then from there we started inviting different entities like ( artist’s, djs, chefs, battle rappers and other podcasters) then we went from there and I sat and thought to myself of the rest of the Texas culture as in the car culture and said I should interview the people that put SLABs together as in the shops and the drivers/owners of the slabs and have them give details of what a SLAB is for the outsides of Texas/Houston culture that’s always questioning our culture and ways of life. then when covid came April of 2020 our momentum had dropped cause we couldn’t interview people in person like that at the moment. So I plan for me and King Patt & Juice to do 1 time weekly episodes and I started doing free music reviews for the artists every Saturday from 1pm – 3pm on instagram live on our page @enoughtalkpod. just to keep our brand promoted and active in some type of way through the whole pandemic til 2021. then at end of 2021 we received our first award from #RBEAWARDS as the #1 Media Platform/Podcast of the year. Then in 2022 I started thinking of ways of how the platform can expand. So I started making EnoughTalk Merch. Hoodies, Shirts & Hats Our Website is Enoughtalkpodcast.com , networking, building relationships with different people in different fields of the entertainment industry as in managers, assistants, marketers & etc. then started realizing that I can’t be a 1 man army for long. So in 2023 that’s when a woman from instagram Elizabeth aka @LizzyTheVA reached out to me and was explaining to me about Google Docs, Chatgpt and Canva. Then I met another woman from Instagram Brittiany Barnes aka @BB_Mgmt who also explained to me how to convert your business into a team base brand. Then that’s when I started studying how to hire and create internships. By the end of 2024 EnoughTalk had videographers, editors & other production team members. also in 2023 EnoughTalk its first community/birthday event Texas Appreciation Function aka Texas Function. its a free family event we throw at Alief Amity Park each year at the end of Sept the last Sunday closes to EnoughTalkPodcast Anniversary date September 30th.. the Texas Function is event that’s culture based we provide free things for kids as in pre fill backpacks, haircuts, facepaints, food and more. We also have a carshow, meaning slabs, sports cars are lined up and showcased. We have vendors promote/sell their brand items and also open mic for the artists latest singles to be heard. and more. We are going to our 4th annual event this year. The year of 2025 is where I start experienced EnoughTalk first Career Day at a Elementary in Alief ISD. how to do award show press runs and more showcase/concerts events. the year 2026 is the year we are having more events like our Texas Brands Fashion Show & Texas Adult Field Day and even working on producing our own Texas Awards Show
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One obstacle/challenge I dealt with in the beginning was, I would reach out to people to get interviewed and they looked at me as if I was a wanna be “Say Cheese” or “Vlad Tv” as if I was trying to produce a messy platform. When that’s never been me but at that moment of time that was the only setting most platforms were interviewing people to get the hot gossip/mess. but as time passed certain people gave me a chance and saw the platform I was producing was different then other platforms. then the same people that declined me the beginning became EnoughTalkPodcast first paid interviews/bookings. Another obstacle I’m dealing with right now is understanding the financial side of the production industry and marketing for our YouTube engagement
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am Exzavior Thomas from the southwest side of Houston, Tx “Alief” to be exact. Was Raised on Club Creek/Bissonnet in Alief, Tx. Went to All Alief Schools, (Betty Best Elementary, Klentzment Intermediate, Olle Middle School & Graduated from Hasting High School 2010-2011). Growing up in Alief I was a neutral guy that used to wander Alief district from the Skating Rink like The Z, Funplex, used to ride bikes from one Apartments to another in Alief. even attended the Higher Dimension Church, was baptized & participated as a kid greeter there also. Now in high school was when I fully started developing my creative thinking. 2006/2007-9th grade I was already shorter then everybody do to me having Sicklecell and gave myself the nickname E.T. because of my initials I also got my first experiences with going to parties and being an extra helping had JU.Promotion / GKA events to be exact. 2007/2008-10th grade me and 2 other childhood friends at the time created an entertainment crew cause P.B.S. PrettyBoySwagg were a group of kids that dressed flyer, fresh & swagged up and we had certain members that were dancing, rapping and promoting. Then later down the year of 10th grade I got into the party promoting. My big cousin Made 4 Tv Gecko ended up booking Party Boys and Had PBS throw the event to where they would be Able to perform at its a fire experience. 2008/2009-11th grade PBS was still active and we were the like the crew/guys to collaborate with later down the 11th grade year when I got recruited to PartyParty.ent run by Omar aka Big.O. that’s when I experienced my full potential as a party promoter. We threw events like Ruby Hall, Bounce U. Alief First Foam Party & Also the First Twerk & Skates Event at Funplex. We had about 1000+ people arrive. 2009/2010-12th grade me and my big cousin Made 4 Tv Gecko Booked Twerk Team and Bring them to Funplex. 2011-2012 after I graduated highschool I slowed down on doing party events cause a shift started happening in the marketing/social media industry. and it became more of a gamble and not really worth it as it used to be. Party/club scenes started shifting and closing down also. 2012-2017 that’s when I stopped worrying about being a party promoter and started thinking about being a marketer but did know what to market exactly.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
My advice for networking is don’t be afraid to ask people questions. you might get no answer or you might do. but when you do get an answer. that’s more knowledge that you didn’t know. That has always worked for me because as a kid I was afraid to ask questions and now that I’m not afraid anymore I have learned so much from strangers.
