Meet Natalie Dawley of Two Be Wed in River Oaks

Today we’d like to introduce you to Natalie Dawley.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
My journey as entrepreneur, wedding planner, wife, and mother has been challenging at times, but I’ve always adapted well and had tremendous support along the way. You can’t do it all and you need a team of people who will support you. My husband is my biggest fan and has always pushed me to be the best I can be. Our business is fluid, forward thinking, and fast moving. Two Be Wed continues to ride the wave of ingenuity and continues to explore ways of enhancing the wedding planning experience for our clients.

My biggest struggle has been transitioning into a CEO role where I can focus on the growth of the business state-wide and training wedding planners in Two Be Wed philosophy. I have been successful at duplicating my process while allowing each planner to infuse their natural ability, talents, and methods of planning.

Thankfully, I have been so fortunate and grateful to have passionate, committed, planners at TBW who love the brand, our philosophy, and company culture. I am not a micro-manager at all. If you are on this team it means you are qualified and more than capable of accomplishing the job. My role is to support, encourage, educate, and to help attract clients who will appreciate our expertise.

There’s only so much time in the day and your priorities shift as you have children and their interests become your interests as well. The work/life balance as many like to say is an ongoing challenge and opportunity for growth, maturity, and change. You find ways to be more efficient, more innovative, and more forgiving of yourself.

So, let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Two Be Wed story. Tell us more about the business.
Two Be Wed is a wedding consulting and event design firm. We mostly plan weddings and wedding related events, but we also plan creative marketing events, creative workshops, offer photoshoot styling, and planning for other social events.

We approach wedding planning from a design perspective- every decision is thoughtful, intentional, and made according to the client’s taste, style, and budget.

Our clients are taken on a design journey to discover what they envision for their wedding day. We view weddings as a branded event- a real life representation of a love story, a life story, cultural backgrounds, traditions, rituals, passions, and interests. How can these things be infused into a wedding? How do you express your deepest gratitude and joy with all of the people you love? And how can you make selecting stationery, floral centerpieces, entertainment, a cake, and favors mean something more than a singular purchase? We help make sense of all of these elements and bring each facet of the wedding into perfect harmony.

I am proud of our reputation of integrity, kindness, expertise, creativity, ingenuity, and passion. Our work speaks for itself. Our planners represent the brand and philosophy. Our clients trust us personally and entrust us with the most important event of their lives. It’s the greatest honor as a business owner to know that your company brings exceeding joy and peace and fulfillment to the clients, their families, and their friends. We have planned hundreds of events and touched thousands of lives with our work.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I don’t believe in luck. I do believe in providence, divine intervention, grace, and that each person is given a measure of gifts and talents. What you do with that talent is up to the individual. My gifts and talents were fostered by loving and encouraging people in my life and a sense of calling and pursuit of something great and beyond myself.

My personality and passion for people has played a part in my success. I genuinely like people and am interested in their life story. This quality has given me the opportunity to collaborate with many, has opened doors to mentor emerging and established entrepreneurs, and helped build a reputation of integrity, honesty, and enthusiasm.

I work hard. I try not to compare myself to others or to their successes. I am a person of my word, I do my best to respect others and to bring out the best in those surrounding me.

If all of this combined results in opportunity and success, how can we call it luck? It is only by God’s grace that I am and have become or have accomplished anything in my life.
