Today we’d like to introduce you to Irina Borodina.
Irina, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’m from Russia and I live and work in Houston. My career began in 2006 and quality is extremely important to me. I create hairstyles and makeup, and I absolutely love my work.
For as long as I can remember, art has been a huge part of my life. I received an education in art and decided to specialize in hair and make-up.
In Moscow, I gained a lot of experience in the modeling industry, working as a make-up artist and hairdresser for countless photo shoots and fashion shows.
I also participated in many fashion shows as a model and later became an instructor for aspiring models.
Has it been a smooth road?
Just do what you want to do. Be yourself and unique. Don’t try to be similar to somebody else! Make-up and hair are parts of the art.
My way was the right for me. Everything I did I was sure that even if it’s difficult I can do that.

🔹 I’m well-educated including an Excellent Art Education; course “hair stylist” (red diploma), the course “Makeup stylist” (red diploma); course “Photo Make-Up”.
🔹 I worked with big companies like Babyliss and Chanel.
🔹 I have worked with over 100 brides in Russia and USA.
I’m up to date on all the trends and always.
There’s a wealth of academic research that suggests that lack of mentors and networking opportunities for women has materially affected the number of women in leadership roles. Smart organizations and industry leaders are working to change this, but in the meantime, do you have any advice for finding a mentor and building a network?
Just try to do everything that a mentor find you! 🙂
