Today we’d like to introduce you to Nikol Gamble.
Nikol, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
The concept of developing an escape room started when we celebrated our friends birthday a few years prior to an escape room in clear lake. We had an amazing time and the experience reinforced my interest in puzzles and problem-solving. Essentially, I spent the next three years conceptualizing my ideas, while also combining my love for puzzles and psychology background into creating something both fun and team based.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Life is a journey and there are always going to be obstacles, however, having a strong support system around me definitely helps. The biggest challenge was acquiring a property. I spent nearly a year looking for properties. Needless to say, the idea of an Escape room was relatively new and people were not as willing to lease out their space to a business concept that was so novel. Look at Escape Rooms now, they are everywhere.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Trapped Escape Room story. Tell us more about the business.
Trapped Escape Room is a fun experience that challenges Family, friends, and strangers to work together and use clues in the room in order to solve the puzzles and escape the room. Trapped Escape Room is a combination of teambuilding, critical thinking, and fun. At Trapped Escape Room, we make sure we connect which each of our customers and provide a fun and unforgettable teambuilding experience. We are known for being a hip, quirky and fun bunch of people and Trapped Escape Room is a reflection of those same momentous. We are proud to be able to serve our community through fun and teambuilding. However, the greatest joy is being able to share the experience with a team of people who are just as passionate and committed. At Trapped Escape Room, our motto is do something different and have fun doing it. We are the only Escape Room in the Houston area to offer alcohol and our team is quite diverse. Being different in culture and in concept, I think helps Trapped stand out and connect with people. Besides, fun is international!
