Meet Trailblazer Alessandra Manrique

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alessandra Manrique.

Alessandra, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I always loved being in front of the camera and had a passion for fashion. However, at only a little over five feet tall, I was not sure how I would be able to make things such as modeling a full-time career. I went on to Texas A&M to pursue a degree in Human Resources and was the first lady in my entire generation to receive a college degree (Class of 2015). Of course, then I started following my first blogger ever on Instagram: Aimee Song. It was so awesome to see that as a blogger, there were no boundaries as to who or what you could become and all, while also being able to inspire others.

I have been blogging for about 2 years now, while also working as a full-time recruiter in the Galleria area. During the week, I get to enjoy working along side an awesome team of recruiters, while my weekends consist of blogging. I have a lovely friend who for months did not mind early Saturday morning photo shoots. I would bring the camera and she would work her magic. Till this day, she still takes the majority of my photos. On other days, my mom or sisters are nice enough to take my #ootd’s. I enjoy sharing my style with all of my followers and am excited for what is yet to come!

Has it been a smooth road?
Nothing great comes easy. From photo shoots, putting together a blog post, captions, and making my feed my own and unique is very time-consuming. Learning to manage my time between my full-time job and blogging is something that I still continue to battle with. Also, it’s easy to want to compare me to other bloggers. I find myself “studying” some of my favorite bloggers feeds and have to remind myself to continue to do what I love and am passionate about and to NOT compare myself to others.

Embrace your imperfections, we all have them! Some of my favorite people to follow are that because they are transparent.

Lastly, network, network, network! I have learned so much about the ins and out of blogging through other fellow bloggers!

We’d love to hear more about Alessandra Laura.
