Meet Alexandra Knight

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexandra Knight.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Alexandra. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
A native Houstonian, I lived in NYC and worked for Conde Nast in the editorial fashion departments of Vogue, Vanity Fair and Allure. After getting married to a childhood friend I decided to move to Houston and the brand became born after going on an alligator hunt with childhood friends. The brand has remained strong and is 15 years strong.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
There have for sure been ups and downs of owning your own creative business. Other designers poaching your designs, difficult clients, responsibilities for staff and the challenges with that but all well worth it to do what you love. I used to struggle with the work/life combo and now manage my time better giving my family the attention it deserves.

Please tell us about Alexandra Knight.
My company is primarily a custom accessories house. We offer simple shapes in beautiful exotics and the clients put their custom touch on it with interior color choice, details and made to measure handles and straps. Creating a timeless bag with no hardware keeps clients coming back for more in a logo driven world. We offer personal service and work closely with clients on what their needs are. All bags are guaranteed for their lifetime and we can change handles and interiors to ensure that quality lasts.

We are known for our beautiful skins and hardware free designs. I am most proud of the relationships we have maintained with clients and what we can offer them. My very first client is still a client and I look forward to always listening and learning the needs and ideas of my super chic clients. I love taking ordinary iconic and classic items and making them luxurious with alligator.

I am most excited about our collaborations with other creative designers such as Aerin Lauder, Amanda Lindroth and Parker Thatch.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Nothing… I would never have learned what I know if I had not made any mistakes.
