Today we’d like to introduce you to Tina Marie Riedel.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I came up with the idea of opening a mobile waxing company about two years ago. I was working for a franchised waxing company and one of my clients that I saw on a regular basis came in and told me how she was going to visit her family in Columbia. After learning more about her family, she then told me how in Columbia you don’t need to leave your home to get waxed because they come to you! I thought this was just brilliant! She explained to me how convenient it is when you have kids and time for things like “going to get waxed” seemed to be selfish and time consuming. It was then that I decided to open a mobile waxing company, something that surprisingly was unheard of. I wanted to reach out to those mothers who just could not make the time for themselves but wanted to! They should not feel like they are being selfish for simply taking a moment to themselves. I wanted to give them that self-confidence back that they once had and maybe lost. Years after the idea came to my mind, I finally decided to just do it! And guess what?? My client that inspired me has been with me the whole way!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Smooth road? NO! My struggles start with having this great idea with limited funds to put it in action. I must say, I did what most would not, I jumped right into it, head first… I just had to go for it! All or nothing! I left my job and decided to pursue Waxi Taxi full time.
Learning to run a business is something I am still trying to figure out as new things arise every day. But I would not change it for the world. The struggle I am enduring today is going to make my business better tomorrow.

Waxi Taxi is a premium speed waxing service that comes to you specializing in fast, painless Brazilians. Unheard of, right? I know, it’s because you have not been waxed with Waxi Taxi’s technique. What I am most proud of about my business is my loyal customers. What set me apart from others are two things, first is clearly the fact that I am mobile which no one else in the Houston area is, second is the relationship I build with my clients is more than one of an esthetician and her client, it is a trusting bond which I want to establish with everyone I come across for a lasting relationship.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I would do nothing differently. All the choices have made up until this point for my business have been a learning experience and for the best of my clients and Waxi Taxi and has worked out marvelously thus far.
