Today we’d like to introduce you to Eleanor Curry.
Eleanor, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My story is one of a grit and determination sandwich with a fun filling. I became a mom in college so very early on I learned I needed to make sure I had a way to provide for me.
This lead me through graduate school and off to begin my career. Throughout my careers, as an office manager and a commercial real estate broker I learned that with hard work and persistence more could be accomplished than the world set as goals.
Instead, I learned to set goals for myself and put in the time and energy to ensure that my goals were accomplished. It was this idea that leads me to attend law school at night at South Texas College of Law in Downtown Houston. My career transitions have led me to want to inspire and guide others to take control of their professional and personal life as a small business attorney and lifestyle blogger focusing on sharing how I work hard and play harder.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Lots of struggles along the way but that is apart of the fun of the ride. I started as a young mother and I added to the mix a feisty late delivery. I have had to learn a lot of lessons on my own as an entrepreneur, making me no stranger to failure and unmet expectations.
The struggles have come to define me instead of deterring me and allowed me to tap into my strength and become a better me.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into The Curry Law Firm, PLLC story. Tell us more about the business.
I am a small business attorney focusing on assisting small business start-up and build a strong legal foundation for their business to build upon. As I am also a Commercial Real Estate Broker so I have the background of understanding common mistakes businesses make as they start off.
In all, I love to see my clients grow and develop and so I use all of my education, experience and background to partner with them on making their business dreams measurable goals they can accomplish with hard work and dedication.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
The role of luck in my life is that it comes and goes. Of course, I love when I get lucky but I also know that perseverance is a type of fortune that easily outpaces luck of the draw in the marathon of life.
While I think it is a great idea to seize the opportunities luck brings about, they are often difficult to grasp if you do not put in the work and preparation to grab the bull by the horns when you have the chance.
