Art & Life with Kae Whitaker

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kae Whitaker.

Kae, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
In 2013 I started my journey as a full-time entrepreneur after a long run in corporate sales and marketing management. Something to the tune of 10 years at the time. I started off as a social media and branding agency offering done for you services by way of website design and social media management, to solo entrepreneurs here locally in Houston. After about a year, the company switched gears to a more educational and training background where we offer courses to entrepreneurs to teach our systems. I was a wife and a mother of 3 at the time attempting to grow a corporately operated business from home.

Business had its challenges more than its successes, but in 2015 we developed a team and really tuned into what mattered most to me as the owner, and how to make that work for my family. In late 2017 we learned we were expecting our 4th bundle of joy, so now we are adding another addition to our family, while maintaining the boutique agency model, being able to service our clients and work a very flexible schedule.

Can you give our readers some background on your art?
My art is centered around my business. I’m a creative at heart in vision but not execution, which is why I work so closely with interior designers and wedding industry professionals. On an artistic level, I create sales systems so artist can be artist and produce beauty through their work.

It’s not glamorous to most, but for me my overall goals are to provide a peace of mind for my clients so they can work the systems that I create in the simplest fashion and not have to be held down by overwhelming technology, but instead drive crazy results and still operate in their main artistic roles. Because I can’t create what I see, I take great pride in making it easier for others that can to be profitable doing so. We all know the balance between creativity and organization is a fine line and I always pursue making my systems the glue between the two.

What would you recommend to an artist new to the city, or to art, in terms of meeting and connecting with other artists and creatives?
I always tell my clients to be a part of the community. Go to local events that are geared towards your trade. Participate in conferences, go to meet ups. Don’t isolate yourself, become a living part of what’s happening around you.

What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
