Today we’d like to introduce you to Charming Charlton Reed.
Charming, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’ve always had an artistic background. Before photography, I dabbled in graphic design and music production.
About 8 years ago I stumbled into a photography studio of known Houston shooter and immediately knew that’s what I wanted to do. The rest is history.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
If a smooth is a rough, jagged and unpredictable road. Yes! Like everyone, it’s been challenging. As a self-taught photographer, one of your biggest challenges is making your image look like the one in your head.
A few years in I made the decision to go full time. I had no plans, no savings, and clearly not the clientele needed to pay all of my bills. It was worth losing everything though.
Charming Charlton Photography – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We love to show out for clients. Being known for helping clients to feel comfortable during their sessions we try to set the “Charming’ atmosphere. I take pride in the work I produce because I give 100% from the first click of the camera to the final edits of the image.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
I wouldn’t say there is one moment in particular but just being full time for 4 and 1/2 years and building my brand to being a household name in photography throughout the country feels pretty rewarding.
If I had to name one I’d say when my client booked the same day flight from London.
