Meet Khalil Edwards of Exclusive Landscaping & Construction

Today we’d like to introduce you to Khalil Edwards.

Khalil, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Truthfully I started my first lawn service at the age of 9, needless to say, it didn’t last long. Professionally I started my business 4 years ago at 22. I was fresh out of college with a newborn son and was in between jobs. I ended up working two jobs, saved money and invested it into tools to start my lawn service. At the time I didn’t have trucks so I was cutting a hand full of clients out of the trunk of my car. Over time with hard work I grew and received investments from my family which allowed me to grow and offers more services to my company. I now offer over 5 different services.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The road less traveled is never an easy one. Each day presents its new challenges and opportunities to learn and overcome to reach the goal or reward. I appreciate struggle because it allows a person to learn from experience while building strength and character. A few struggles I encountered would be building a brand with little start-up Capitol as well as my age. Being in my mid 20’s I had to prove the quality of my work and build my portfolio to allow the work to speak for itself.

Exclusive Landscaping & Construction – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Exclusive Landscaping & Co specializes in lawn care, landscape design and installation, tree trimming and removal, fence repair/installation, custom gates and fences as well as exterior and interior home remodeling. Out of the variety of services offered my company is most known for lawn care and landscaping. I’m proud of every aspect of my company, but I would say I am most proud of the growth of my company as well as the pride we take in exceeding the expectations of every client. I take pride in the roll my companies plays in cleaning up our city and communities one job at a time.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success can be defined in many different ways, I personally do not have a definition of success yet as far as business is concerned. I feel like I am somewhat successful but I have a ways to go, a lot more goals to reach before I personally can consider myself successful.
