Meet Leo Sosa of LEOSA

Today we’d like to introduce you to Leo Sosa.

Leo, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
What’s up, Houston! Leo here or better known as _LEOSA to the photography community. Photography for me was always a part of my life from my parents taking my sisters and I on trips to skateboarding with friends as I grew up.

It wasn’t until mid-2014 that my interest in taking photos really started. My parents had a bunch of film cameras laying around the house and some of my friends had DSLR’s that we would use to showcase our skateboarding progress. I used my iPhone for my beginning phases of photo taking and editing as well as borrowed a Canon t3 from my good friend Michele Gomez until I finally got him to sell it to me, haha. That’s when my photo career was kicked into high gear and I started taking it seriously.

Early 2015 I met a bunch of photographers at a worldwide instameet, Jorge aka WVTRMRK being one of them. We became friends and about a month later we took a trip to California, landing in LA and making our way through Hwy 1 up to San Francisco.

From there it was a trip after trip and our audience was growing more and more landing me with a couple of agencies hiring me on as a photographer/influencer to showcase various events. I am grateful to all of the friends and family who have supported and have taught me throughout the process.

Has it been a smooth road?
The process is never smooth and that’s what makes it great! I am an automotive technician, so juggling a 7-5 and taking photos was definitely hard for me. Late 2015 I quit my job to pursue photography full time which ended shortly after due to Houston’s Tax day flood. I returned to work to help my family during that time which was ok because I had already built my following thanks to all of the people around me supporting me.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the LEOSA story. Tell us more about the business.
My business name is LEOSA. My style of photography varies from symmetry, people, music events and product photography. What I feel sets me apart from others is pushing myself to learn different styles of photography in order to achieve my goal.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I plan on moving to different cities within the next couple of years to pursue my photography to its fullest extent. As for now, I have a few gigs pending and big things coming for LEOSA.
