Today we’d like to introduce you to Greg Shaw.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Greg. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’ve been shooting since I was on the newspaper staff at my local high school back in 1984. I’ve always been interested in making photographs. During my time in the Navy, I always enjoyed the beautiful ports of call because it was another opportunity to capture images. Throughout my adult life, there never was a time that I didn’t on a camera.
As my children were born, I photographed them growing up into adults and now I’m photographing my grandchildren.
Two years ago one of my daughter’s friends who is a successful fashion designer on her own right, asked me to photograph some of her clothes. I said yes, and I was blown away. I was introduced to the world of fashion and I loved it. I haven’t stopped. I’m always looking to work with new and interesting designers and models and to bring to life the images I see in my head.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has not always been smooth. I’m constantly learning new thing. Trying not to listen to naysayers and concentrate on my art. Getting my work more noticed is always a struggle, but one day at a time and one photo at a time are all I can do.

In my photography business, I specialize in stylized portraiture and weddings. My style of photography is classy elegant. I don’t shoot demeaning or derogatory photos. I set myself apart from others by just doing what I do.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Being humble. The road to success is a long one. It’s important not to take any shortcuts.
