Today we’d like to introduce you to Angelica Sam.
Angelica, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
Where do I begin?! Let’s see I’m a believer, mom, a wife, and a photographer. I started as a photographer about 5 years ago. When I first got my camera, I did not expect to eventually have my own business. I actually bought the camera for my Husband as a new “toy”! It sat on the shelf for a year until I finally picked it up. I wanted pictures of my daughter but at the time I was in college and barely getting by. So there my journey began, I literally took pictures of anything I could. Photography was my mental escape from the chaos of everyday life. Little did I know that photography would take me away from my full-time job with state and launch me where I am today as full-time photographer, capturing God’s greatest blessings in my beautiful studio!
We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
A Little Taste of Heaven Photography focuses on the first year of life. This includes maternity, births, and baby milestones; specializing in newborn portraiture. I watch as couples become first time parents or beautiful families expand by one more bundle of joy. It’s an amazing journey and one that I just can’t get enough of. I love what I do and I think what sets me apart is the experience I provide for my clients. We take care of everything, from wardrobe, jewelry, hair/makeup, props, accessories, and everything in between. We truly want to pamper our clients from beginning to end.
Artists face many challenges, but what do you feel is the most pressing among them?
The biggest challenge facing artist today is valuing yourself, worth, and art! So many times, I see artist struggling financially so they give away their beautiful art for pennies. I encourage all artist to run their numbers and find out their cost of doing business, get legal, and charge accordingly because we are worth a living wage! What we offer is unique and no one else can capture this story quite like you, its VALUABLE!!
