Meet Kristina Uriegas-Reyes

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristina Uriegas-Reyes.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I spent the last seven years in New York City, writing and working with small businesses though social media. I have a background in retail, specializing in vintage and consignment. I’d consider myself a blogger turned entrepreneur, especially after I returned to my hometown of San Antonio, TX. I finally decided to follow my dream of opening a vintage boutique. I named the shop Hello Tallulah after my adorable pup. It evokes the quirky charm of her daily dog greeting, along with the glamour of old Hollywood actress Tallulah Bankhead.

My collection of clothing is highly curated. At the same time, I wanted to make vintage feel special and accessible. The shop specializes in affordable, easy dresses that you can throw on and go. I also create whimsical retro jewelry that is sparkly and fun.

As a body positivity advocate and a former plus-size model, sizing is at the forefront of my mind as I curate my collection. It is important that I carry a variety of sizes. Everyone should have the opportunity to feel fabulous in something unique. I’m happy to see my shop become part of the city’s thriving community. I longed for a space that could be the ultimate happy place. I want customers to walk in and feel excited to express themselves though fashion. My shop is a welcoming wonderland of whimsy and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Please tell us about your art.
I curate unique vintage treasures and create retro jewelry.

We often hear from artists that being an artist can be lonely. Any advice for those looking to connect with other artists?
When it comes to supporting fellow business women, networking should feel natural. You build each other up through events and support one another in sales whenever you can. Eventually you’ll form a supportive community that you can count on.

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
My hours are 11AM-7PM six days a week! I’m open Tuesday-Sunday. You can support by visiting the store, tagging us and/or following on social media! As a new business, spreading the word means a lot!
