Today we’d like to introduce you to Nina.
Nina was born in Thailand. After finishing her early education in Bangkok, she worked in her family’s spa business where she received training in traditional Thai Massage and Day Spa Management. She attended the best health, herbal, holistic and medical training institutions in Thailand. Nina helped build and manage the Day Spa business in Bangkok, Pattaya Beach, Banthai Beach, Pantong Beach and Phuket. Her ambition was to move to the United States and further her education; she moved to California and attended school while working in the Day Spa industry gaining more training and experience, she then moved to Houston Texas and is married to her husband Joe. He recognized her abilities in the Day Spa business and being in construction built Nina her first location on Westheimer by the Galleria. This Thai Massage & Day Spa location has catered to some of the finest clients in the Galleria area including athletes, doctors, business professionals and their families. Then with her client’s advice and the ambition to better serve people Nina opened another location in the Chimney Rock Medical Pavilion at 2951 Chimney Rock, this time a full Day Spa facility that includes massage, facial treatments, hairstyling, nail & pedicure spa treatments with steam and sauna.
Now after 15 years in business and with the support of her clients and families Nina has built and opened another location. One of the largest Day Spas in Houston located at 2707 Fountain View off Westheimer near the Galleria. As of this writing, her new location has been voted Yelp’s top 10 best Day Spas in Houston. Her 4000-square foot facility can cater to large bridal and special occasion parties and can be seen on her website using 360-degree camera touring.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Opening any business and maintaining is never a smooth road. Locations, buildouts contractors and building a business to client satisfaction and retention. It’s the compliments and rewards we receive from our clients that makes it all worthwhile.
What role has luck (good luck or bad luck) played in your life and business?
The good luck I have is family, friends and client support which is the ingredients for success. Bad luck is the unexpected I couldn’t plan for.
