Meet Tralynn Victorian of Victorious Wellness Center in North Houston

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tralynn Victorian.

Tralynn, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
As a young girl, I looked up to my mom who was a nurse. I knew that I enjoyed working with others, had a passion for helping others, and genuinely cared about the wellbeing of others. I decided to become a nurse and earned my Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Nursing from Prairie View A&M University in 2010. I returned to Prairie View A&M University to obtain my Master’s of Science Degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2014. I knew that I wanted to become a Family Nurse Practitioner because I wanted to provide healthcare to individuals who live in underserved communities, and who would benefit from quality healthcare.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I do not believe that anything is ever a smooth road. I do believe that challenges and struggles are life lessons, so even though in that moment I may not appreciate the struggle, I do understand that everything happens for a reason. Therefore, I always try to find the positive or teaching point of the situation. I will say that being a new business owner has taught me better time management skills in regards to running a business and still juggling the demands of being a wife, and mom.

Please tell us about Victorious Wellness Center.
Victorious Wellness Center is a clinic and we see individuals starting at age 18 months and up. We accept: Blue Cross Blue Shield, Medicare, Texas Healthy Women’s Medicaid, United Health Care, and Medicaid. We also offer affordable self pay options for uninsured patients. We see patients for minor care issues, chronic care issues, and weight loss management. Minor care issues include: cold/flu, strep throat, skin rashes, urinary tract infections, ear infections, stomach viruses, etc. Chronic care issues for adults include: diabetes management, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, asthma, arthritis, etc. We also perform well woman exams, and physical exams. STD testing and lab testing are collected in the clinic. We also offer individualized weight loss programs, and Lipo B12 injections.

I am most proud of owning a company that believes in its patient’s and truly cares. I believe that Victorious Wellness Center is set apart from others because we offer flexible hours which includes evening and weekend hours. Our scheduling makes it convenient for individuals who are unable to leave work early or are unable to withdraw their kids early from school. I also listen to my patients and we develop a plan of care that we both agree on to ensure that the patient will follow the plan as well.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite childhood memories are spending time with my cousins. A lot of my cousins were “military brats” like me so they moved around a lot, so we enjoyed spending time together when we could.
