Meet Roselyn Weaver

Today we’d like to introduce you to Roselyn Weaver.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’ve always been really into fashion. I have my Mom to thank for that. Even as a little girl my mom would always dress me in the cutest outfits, and she was always dressed to the nines herself. That all stuck with me as I grew up. I ended up going to school for Fashion Merchandising in Long Beach, CA where I began my journey in the fashion world. I worked in every position you could probably imagine.

From the retail floor to designer showrooms, from fashion show dresser to a trend forecasting firm. Then, I landed my dream job as a Buyer and worked in the corporate retail world for almost nine years. I was fortunate to meet a lot of great, inspiring people along the way but after getting married and wanting to start a family, working 12 hour days and traveling every week became a lot harder.

That’s when I decided to step away from the company I was working for as an Associate Buyer and going into Supply Chain Management. As much as I enjoy working in Supply Chain Management, I was still missing that creative space where I could talk about fashion and trends everyday, so that’s when the blog was born. 🙂

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Is it ever a smooth road? Haha. No matter what industry you are in, starting your own business is a struggle. The funds aren’t always there to support your big ideas, but you manage to get creative.

I had to watch YouTube videos on how to build my website on my own and my husband was my photographer for the longest time because I really didn’t want to outsource any work with added expenses when the blog wasn’t bringing in any income.

Building your brand and business is made up of countless late nights, lack of sleep and lots of coffee! But persistence is key, and I promise you all that hard work pays off!

We’d love to hear more about what you do.
RoselynWeaver.com is a fashion and lifestyle blog that covers affordable trends, travel, beauty, and most recently mommyhood! I started this blog as a creative outlet to talk about fashion and travel, but I really started to see the growth when I started sharing more of my personal experiences. Motivational tips, personal struggles and just life in general.

I am not the only one out here trying to succeed at a corporate job, also trying to kill it with a side hustle and trying to be a great mom and wife on top of all of that. I think what sets me apart is that I share a lot of the struggles I have trying to “do it all.”

I want to be an inspiration to hard-working women out there making their dreams come true. I want to remind people who are up all hours of the night working on their side business that there is light at the end of the tunnel. I share my successes as a reminder to you that your hard work will come to fruition.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Lucky and unlucky are not words I would use. I believe in hard work. I believe in persistence. I believe in faith. I know that hard work pays off and I try to remind myself that when something doesn’t go exactly how I had planned that it wasn’t my time. Just continue to put in work and your “good luck” will pay off. 🙂 You see how that works? 🙂
