Meet Dres

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dres.

Dres, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
It started with a friend of ours. Our guitar player, Chris, had a childhood friend who coincidentally has the same birthday as him. Split up during middle school, but still kept in touch; one day during their high school career the friend had reached out after seeing a guitar video Chris posted on Facebook. The friend was an up and coming rapper at the time. One night he was hanging out with Brandon and Quentin and decided to make an appearance with them at Chris’ house. Chris was playing guitar in his garage, and instantly Brandon and Quentin were inspired. From there, they instantly became great friends and decided to pursue music together.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do? Why? And what do you hope others will take away from your work?
We’re a local band from Houston, Texas! We love to create music and just vibe out. Our goal is simply to be an inspiration to the world. In this day and age, we feel like people think things should be done a certain way; we want to be a living example of how big you can make your dreams. We have no assigned genre. We love all variations of music and just make what we feel. We’re big on being ourselves and think people shouldn’t have to change who they are to fit in.

What do you think it takes to be successful as an artist?
Success is influencing others and being a light or inspiration in the lives of others. What’s essential to success as an artist, in our eyes, is good energy at it’s best.

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
People can listen on basically any streaming platform. We’re on Bandcamp, Spotify, Apple Music, etc. Honestly, if people want to support, they can come to our performances, purchase merchandise that we have IN THE WORKS, or simply by just listening to our music and spreading their joy. We have an EP on the way. February 6th! Stay tuned! It’s also releasing on those same music platforms.
