An Inspired Chat with Abigail Moran of Heights

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Abigail Moran. Check out our conversation below.

Abigail, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: Would YOU hire you? Why or why not?
Yes, I would totally hire myself. I am not perfect and make lots of mistakes, but I love what I do and try to do my BEST at all times. Most importantly I love children. They are our future!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hola! I am Abigail Moran. I came to America when I was 10 years old. I came to this country speaking zero English. This country has blessed me and offered many opportunities. Now I would like back to the community and share my culture and Spanish language.

I am the owner of Spanish School 4Kids in the Houston Heights. We dedicate ourselves to offer a safe environment to our students in order to make memorable memories and they can naturally learn Spanish with us. We do this by using lots of music, movement and lots of fun hands on activities

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
The relationship that most shaped me was my father. He was a very compassionate and loving human being. He always told me to dream BIG. He was an orphan so did not get the opportunity to attend school. He would tell me that I was going to become a professional and be able to reach all my goals. My father passed when I was thirteen but every goal I reached, I could hear his words in my heart.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me that I am stronger than what I thought I was. That many times the people that suffer the most are the most compassionate and the people that gets in other’s people shoes. Suffering makes you a loving human being that has gone through fire and has become a diamond.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would say that family matters to me the most. My son Joshua is the most important person in this world for me. I try to be the best version of myself for him. I try to live my life by example because there are always his eyes looking at not what I say, but what I do. Joshua has being the greatest gift that I have received from up above and I will be forver grateful.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
The story that I want people to tell when I am gone is that I was the person that care for others and that I always shared with people that were less fortunate.
