We’re looking forward to introducing you to Abrielle Brumit. Check out our conversation below.
Abrielle, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What is a normal day like for you right now?
No two days are exactly the same, but I try to keep a rhythm that supports both my business and my health! I usually start my mornings with a quick snack and some form of movement. Fun fact: I actually teach Pilates classes a few times a week, so you can often find me at the studio, in the gym, or out at the park for a long walk or run to set a clear mindset for the day!
From there, I head back home and dive into my full morning routine, starting with a proper breakfast and then jumping into the first round of business tasks. Checking emails, responding to clients, reviewing my schedule, and going over upcoming wedding timelines.
Midday is usually when I jump into the core part of my work: commuting to clients, local Houston studios, or wedding venues to get my brides and bridal parties ready for their special events. On non wedding days, I’m often conducting trials or consultations, making sure every detail is just right.
Afternoons are all about content planning, social media, and the behind the scenes work that helps my business grow and stay visible online. Whether it’s editing photos, creating reels, or engaging with my community, there’s always something to do!
It’s a busy life, but I truly love being a part of such meaningful moments in my clients’ lives.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! I’m Abrielle Brumit, the founder of The Darling Artistry a professional bridal hair and makeup business based in Houston. I specialize in creating elevated, timeless, and personalized beauty looks for brides, bridal parties, and anyone preparing for a special event. My brand is rooted in enhancing natural beauty and helping each client feel like the absolute best version of themselves on one of the most meaningful days of their life.
What makes my work truly special is the level of care and intention I bring to every appointment. I always strive to fill the room with positive energy and enthusiasm, creating a calming yet joyful experience from start to finish. It’s such an honor to be trusted with someone’s memories to be invited into such a personal part of their day, and I never take that lightly.
For me, it’s not just about delivering beautiful hair and makeup services. It’s about how I make my clients feel!
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
Honestly, I’ve mentioned her before and I still stand by it! Candice Hollub with The Lovely Hair Class. She recognized my creative talent and passion for beauty long before I ever imagined turning it into a full-time career.
At a time when I was still figuring things out, she not only encouraged me but genuinely took me under her wing. Candice so kindly connected me with people I now hold in the highest regard, relationships that have deeply impacted my journey and allowed me to build meaningful connections with others in this industry.
Her strong belief in me gave me the confidence and push I needed to take my skills seriously and start building The Darling Artistry into what it is today. I’ll always be grateful for the way she saw something in me before I truly saw it in myself.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would remind myself to trust that God always has a plan even in the moments filled with impatience, doubt, or uncertainty about what the future holds. Keep praying for clarity and for trust, because He hears every word, even the quiet ones.
Looking back on my career now, I can see the foreshadowing was always there I just couldn’t recognize it at the time. God was carving a path for me with such intention and care. Every moment, every connection, every opportunity I’ve had has been guided by His hand.
I truly believe this is the career He always had in mind for me. And by choosing to trust Him, He’s provided every resource, every person, and every room I needed to walk into to become who I am today. His timing is always perfect.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
One of the biggest lies we’re facing right now isn’t just internal, it’s something that affects both artists and clients: the growing use of AI-generated images in beauty inspiration.
More and more, clients come in with inspo photos that are completely AI-generated or so heavily edited that they’re no longer realistic. And while that’s not inherently “bad,” it has become a new challenge for artists. We’re not just creating a look anymore, we’re also having to gently educate the person in our chair that some of the images they’re showing us aren’t achievable on a real human face.
Things like perfectly airbrushed skin with no pores, frizz-free hair that defies gravity, or makeup that looks flawless from every angle with zero texture, these are characteristics of digitally rendered faces, not real people. When clients don’t realize this, it can unintentionally set both them and the artist up for disappointment.
That’s why I always recommend finding inspiration photos from your actual artist’s portfolio or from other trusted artists’ social media pages. Real-life work on real people will give you a much more accurate expectation of what’s possible, and honestly, the beauty in that is unmatched. There’s nothing more stunning than a real person feeling confident and radiant in their own skin!
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
The moment I pack up my kit and leave after a day of work. I hope both my clients and fellow artists can look back and genuinely say, “That was a good day.”
I want my clients to feel deeply heard and seen. I want them to reflect on their experience and say, “Abrielle really understood my vision, and together, we nailed it.” I hope they feel not just beautiful, but also confident, supported, and celebrated.
And from my peers, I want to be remembered as someone who gave the day her all. Someone who came in with a team driven attitude, stepped up wherever help was needed, and brought good energy into the room. Whether it’s a wedding morning or a full day of trials, I hope everyone walks away saying, “We made magic today, and everyone felt good doing it.”
That’s the kind of impact I want to leave behind every time I walk out the door.
