An Inspired Chat with DJ LIL RON of Midtown

DJ LIL RON shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Hi DJ, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What is a normal day like for you right now?
A normal day for me is a balance of discipline and creativity.
During the week, I work full-time in the oil and gas industry (Monday through Friday), where I focus on delivering results in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment. Outside of that, I’m the CEO/Owner of The Hit Galaxy Entertainment, where I also perform as a DJ. This role allows me to channel my passion for music, curate unforgettable experiences, and manage the creative and business aspects of the brand.

Each day involves juggling both industries — staying organized, setting priorities, and constantly adapting to meet the demands of two very different, yet equally rewarding, careers.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Ronald Bonnette/ DJ LIL RON, and I’m a full-time professional in the oil and gas industry, as well as the founder and DJ behind The Hit Galaxy Entertainment. My journey is all about balancing structure with creativity — working in a high-performance, technical field during the week, and bringing energy and unforgettable vibes to events through music on nights and weekends.

The Hit Galaxy Entertainment isn’t just a brand — it’s a movement built around quality entertainment, good energy, and unforgettable experiences. What makes it unique is the combination of professional execution and creative passion that goes into every event, set, or project we take on. From private functions to large-scale events, we aim to create atmospheres that people remember.

Right now, I’m focused on expanding the brand, collaborating with other creatives, and continuing to push boundaries — whether that’s through new music, fresh event concepts, or growing our presence in new markets.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Before the world told me who I had to be, I was someone guided by curiosity, creativity, and instinct. I was naturally drawn to sound, energy, and movement — always creating something, whether it was music, ideas, or experiences. I didn’t see limits; I saw possibilities. That mindset still drives me today.

The world may shape us, but at my core, I’ve always been someone who wants to connect people — through rhythm, through purpose, and through building something real. That’s what led me to start The Hit Galaxy Entertainment — a space where authenticity and artistry lead the way, not just expectations.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Absolutely — there have been moments where I questioned everything. Balancing a demanding career in the oil and gas industry while trying to build The Hit Galaxy Entertainment from the ground up hasn’t always been easy. There were times when the late nights, financial stress, or slow progress made me wonder if it was worth it.

But in those moments, I reminded myself why I started — the passion, the vision, and the people who believed in what I was doing. Every setback became fuel. I realized that the hardest moments are often the turning points, and giving up would mean walking away from something truly meaningful. So I kept going — and I’m still going.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would probably say that what matters most to me is authenticity, loyalty, and creating meaningful experiences. They know I’m someone who puts passion into everything I do — whether it’s my work, music, or relationships. I don’t just show up, I invest myself fully.

They’d also tell you that I care deeply about building something that lasts — not just success in the traditional sense, but a legacy of impact, good energy, and staying true to who I am. Whether I’m behind the decks or behind the scenes, I want the people around me to feel inspired, heard, and connected.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
If I knew I had 10 years left, I would stop doing anything that doesn’t align with purpose, peace, or passion. I’d let go of overcommitting to things out of obligation, saying yes when I really mean no, and wasting energy on things that don’t contribute to growth — mine or anyone else’s.

I’d stop second-guessing myself and playing small to make others comfortable. Life’s too short to dim your light. I’d double down on the things and people that matter — creating, connecting, building, and being present. The goal would be to make those 10 years feel like a lifetime of impact.
