An Inspired Chat with Evelyn Munoz of Katy, TX

We recently had the chance to connect with Evelyn Munoz and have shared our conversation below.

Evelyn, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
My family, I enjoy every moment I spend with my munchkins and hubby

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Evelyn Munoz, and I’m the founder of E&E Munoz Firm, where we help individuals, business owners, and institutions build strong financial foundations and plan for a secure retirement. What makes my work special is that it’s rooted in purpose, I believe finances are not just about numbers, but about creating freedom, balance, and legacy. And to be honest, very few people are actually saving for retirement. If business owners don’t help their employees by offering a retirement plan, the reality is that only about 12% of the population contributes to an IRA or Roth IRA. That means most people will reach retirement age without enough savings to stop working.

Social Security alone isn’t enough, many retirees receive between $650 and $1,200 a month, which simply isn’t enough to live on. I personally know people who’ve had to keep working even after retiring, just to make ends meet.

I’m also passionate about supporting my community, especially women entrepreneurs, through events that include the whole family. I think sometimes, as we focus on building our businesses, we forget about the importance of involving our children and creating meaningful moments with them. My mission is to help others grow not only financially, but also personally, as families, and spiritually.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who taught you the most about work?
My dad taught me the most about work. He was always there for me when I was a child and showed me the value of hard work and perseverance. He taught me to never give up, to stay determined, and to fight for what I want in life. I miss him, but his example continues to inspire me every day.

What’s something you changed your mind about after failing hard?
After failing hard, I changed my mind about trying to do everything on my own. There was a time in my business when I thought I had to handle it all every detail, every problem, and I burned out. That experience taught me that asking for help isn’t a weakness, it’s wisdom. I learned to trust others, to delegate, and most importantly, to trust God’s plan even when things don’t go the way I expect. That failure helped me grow stronger, both as a leader and as a person.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes, I believe the public version of me is the real me. People who truly know me can see that I genuinely care about others. My clients can feel it too, I focus on building long-lasting relationships and staying in touch with them at least twice a year. For me, the real value of a person is reflected in how people feel when they’re around you, the confidence, the energy, the positivity, and the sense of being cared for. That’s what I strive to share every day.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What false labels are you still carrying?
A false label I’ve heard is that I expect too much, but that comes from my belief in giving my best to everything I do. I’ve worked hard for everything in my life, and I know what it takes to make things happen. Sometimes people want success without putting in the effort, and that’s hard for me to understand because I’ve learned that nothing comes easy, you have to show up, stay consistent, and trust God through the process. For me, working hard isn’t just about achieving goals; it’s about growing, becoming stronger, and setting an example for my kids and others who are watching.
