An Inspired Chat with Minely Carmona of North

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Minely Carmona. Check out our conversation below.

Minely, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
Energy is most important to me because it requires the most care. When you know how to properly disperse your energy without becoming drained or overwhelmed you can succeed at anything you set your mind to.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m a Houston native empath. I started my spiritual business in 2019 doing tarot readings and then selling magic themed tools and accessories. My brand is an extension of the magic embedded in myself and in my culture. PinkMoonMexicana mixes sacred rites and tools with an aesthetic to make it unique and relatable to Brujas everywhere.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
The relationship that most shapes how I see myself is the one I have with my mother. I see myself in her and her folk magic. She inspires me to be better in all aspects of life, especially spiritually.

What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
My most defining wounds have been losing my loved ones. When someone dear to you passes it’s traumatic and I’m still healing. As mind altering as death is, using tarot, offerings, and creating altars to connect with those who’ve passed, provides me with comfort.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
Respect for ancestry and ancestral knowledge. They are our guides, protectors, and the keepers of wisdom passed down through generations. My power, my rituals, my knowledge, even my herbs and prayers, are inherited. To dishonor my ancestors is to break the chain of spiritual strength.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I am fully connected to my ancestors, spirit, my heart, and the Earth. When all the parts of me come into alignment under the moon, at my altar, basking in sunlight, doing tarot readings, I create magic. In those moments, I remember who I am and why I walk this path.
