Romeo El Chaer shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Hi Romeo, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: When was the last time you felt true joy?
On July 10th, 2025, I traveled with my wife and youngest son to visit our oldest son, who is currently deployed at Dover Air Force Base. Seeing him in uniform, standing tall in his purpose, and hearing his commander, senior officers, and colleagues speak highly of him filled my heart with deep pride and joy. It was a moment that lifted our whole family. That visit reminded me of the beauty of service, family, and God’s faithfulness in our journey.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Romeo El Chaer—a Christian faith-based motivational speaker, author, and founder of Walking Phoenix LLC. I specialize in speaking to faith-driven audiences, youth, leaders, and organizations who seek real-life stories of hope, healing, and resilience through faith.
What makes my message powerful is that it’s not just prepared—it’s lived. I was born and raised in war-torn Lebanon, the sixth son of a Christian family. I survived conflict, hardship, and personal tragedy, including losing my eye as a child in a devastating accident. That moment, though painful, was the beginning of my spiritual transformation. I didn’t just survive—I rose. Not with bitterness, but with a deeper vision: a purpose far greater than myself.
Today, I speak across the U.S. and internationally, delivering my signature keynote:
“From Losing an Eye to Gaining Vision”
—a moving and faith-centered journey that empowers people to lead fearlessly, love deeply, and live with eternal purpose.
I focus on keynote speaking events—whether for churches, Christian schools, military organizations, conferences, or pro-life gatherings—sharing practical tools and powerful testimony about how God shapes our resilience through storms. My voice is bold, humble, raw, and real. I don’t shy away from brokenness, because I believe that’s where God does His greatest work.
One of my deepest convictions is my pro-life testimony. I am an abortion survivor, and I use my platform to speak for the voiceless, encouraging others to see the God-given worth in every life. I believe that purpose begins before birth, and my life is a living testimony to that truth.
I’m also the author of The Faith.Book, available on my website www.romeoelchaer.com, where I share foundational truths on living and leading through Christian values. I’m currently working on my second book—a deeply personal narrative that weaves together my life stories to show how resilience through faith is not just a theory—it’s a way of life. This upcoming book reflects my mission to lead others from fear to fearless leadership, rooted in the strength of Jesus Christ.
If you’re looking for a speaker who blends authentic storytelling, biblical truth, and practical resilience, I would be honored to serve your audience.
Let’s inspire hearts. Let’s build leaders. Let’s choose life.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
The part of me that believed survival was the highest goal.
For years, especially growing up in Lebanon and navigating crisis after crisis, I lived in survival mode—mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. That mindset kept me alert. It kept me safe. It built my resilience. But it also built walls. It numbed parts of me that God was trying to heal. It told me that just getting through was enough.
But God didn’t just call me to survive—He called me to thrive. To live boldly. To lead. To feel deeply, not just endure. To love with open hands, not clenched fists.
So now, with faith, I release that survival identity. I honor it—it got me here. But it cannot take me where God is calling me next. The new season requires fearless trust, full surrender, and deeper intimacy with Christ.
I’m not just the product of past pain. I am the vessel of God’s purpose. And in releasing what was, I make space for what is becoming—a man led not by fear, but by vision, clarity, and unstoppable faith.
When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
I stopped hiding my pain the moment I realized it wasn’t a weakness—it was a testimony.
For years, I wore a mask of strength, especially after losing my eye as a child. I became “the strong one,” the one who smiled through suffering, who pushed forward no matter what. But deep inside, I carried wounds—physical, emotional, and spiritual—that I was too proud, too scared, or too conditioned to share. I thought hiding pain was resilience. But I’ve come to learn that revealing it with purpose is where true strength begins.
The real turning point came when I stood on a stage and told my story—not as a victim, but as a witness to the grace of God. I shared the raw truth of my injury, the fear it caused, the anger, the identity crisis… and the redemption. I watched how others connected not to the polished version of me, but to the scarred, real me—the man who found strength through surrender.
That’s when everything changed. Pain stopped being something I escaped or covered up. It became my power. Not because of me, but because of the One who transformed it into purpose.
Now, as a speaker, I walk into every room not to impress, but to connect. To let others know: their scars don’t disqualify them. Their pain doesn’t diminish their purpose. In God’s hands, it all becomes power.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I am wholeheartedly committed to the belief that resilience through faith is not just possible—it’s transformational. And my lifelong project is to help people discover this truth through the power of testimony, storytelling, and Christian leadership.
No matter how long it takes, I will continue standing on stages, in churches, schools, military bases, and every platform God opens—sharing the message that your past doesn’t disqualify your future. That your scars can be your story. That your faith can carry you through the fire and shape you into a fearless leader.
I’m also committed to completing my second book—built on personal life stories that reflect how God’s grace shaped me into who I am today. It’s a journey of overcoming war, injury, fear, rejection, and starting over in a new land. But more than that, it’s a testament to God’s unfailing love and the deep resilience He builds in us when we surrender our lives to Him.
Another belief I’ll never let go of is the value of every life. As a pro-life speaker and an abortion survivor, I carry a calling to defend the unborn and speak life into families—especially mothers in crisis. That message is part of who I am. It’s not political, it’s personal.
Whether it takes months or decades, I’m committed to being a vessel of hope, truth, and strength—wherever God sends me.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
For a long time, I was doing what I was expected to do—what survival demanded, what society defined as success, what tradition told me was right. I was building, hustling, striving… but deep inside, I felt a quiet emptiness.
It wasn’t until I stopped and truly listened to God’s whisper over my life that I began doing what I was born to do.
I was born to speak.
Born to testify.
Born to inspire people to rise from their brokenness and walk boldly in their God-given purpose.
Today, I don’t just speak to be heard—I speak to ignite faith. To wake up the warrior in people. To remind them that resilience isn’t something you fake… It’s something you forge through fire—and with God, you come out stronger, not just scarred.
I know now that I was born to share my testimony, to turn pain into power, and to help others believe again—especially those who feel like they’ve been disqualified by life.
So yes, I’m finally doing what I was born to do. And I’m not turning back.
