An Inspired Chat with T’Eria Coleman of Beaumont Texas

T’Eria Coleman shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

T’Eria , a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What battle are you avoiding?
The battle I’m avoiding right now is holding on to people and situations that no longer serve the season I’m stepping into. I’ve learned that not everyone is meant to go where I’m going, and that’s okay. I’m choosing to protect my peace, my energy, and my growth. I’ve had people take my kindness for weakness, walk away when I needed them most, and bring negative energy into spaces I’ve worked hard to build. Instead of fighting for people to understand my heart or match my loyalty, I’m letting go and trusting that distance is also a form of protection. My focus is on purpose, elevation, and surrounding myself with those who genuinely pour into me like I pour into them.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Teria Coleman, but most people know me as Chef Badd the creative force behind Glotto’s Kitchen, a soul food brand built from hustle, heart, and faith. I started my business from the ground up, turning my passion for cooking into a movement that celebrates family, culture, and Southern comfort food with a bold twist.

Right now, I’m working toward franchising Glotto’s Food House, while also building my cooking show “Cooking with Badd” a platform that highlights creativity, community, and entrepreneurship. What makes my brand unique is that every dish and idea comes with a story. I’ve taken time, made sacrifices, and poured my energy into growing something real that inspires others to chase their dreams, too.

My vision goes beyond just food it’s about legacy, ownership, and showing that you can rise from the kitchen to the boardroom. Whether I’m hosting pop-ups, mentoring entrepreneurs through Boss Moves, or developing my son’s line ICE Kartier, I’m proof that every season of struggle can turn into a season of success.

Glotto’s is not just a brand it’s a lifestyle, a legacy, and a reminder that greatness can come from anywhere when you stay hungry for more.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Before the world told me who I had to be, I was a party-loving, hustling girl who just wanted to enjoy life. I started working at fifteen, always chasing independence and a good time. But when I lost my brother, everything shifted. His passing opened my eyes to purpose I realized I was still here for a reason. That pain became my push. It made me focus on building something meaningful, and that’s when Glotto’s Kitchen started becoming more than just a dream. I turned my hustle into a mission, using my story and my strength to create opportunities and inspire others to keep going no matter what life throws their way.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
There have been plenty of moments when I felt like giving up. Life seemed to hit me back-to-back losses, setbacks, and disappointments all at once. There were times when I questioned if all the hard work, sacrifices, and sleepless nights were even worth it. But then I realized something powerful: the day I decide to quit could be the same day everything I’ve prayed for finally comes together. That mindset kept me going. I learned to push through pain, to rest but never stop. Every challenge became a lesson, every delay a setup for something greater. Now when things get hard, I remind myself that I’ve already survived worse, and that strength is what keeps me standing.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would say that I’m very ambitious and driven. They know that once I set my mind on something, I won’t stop until I make it happen. What really matters to me is growth both personal and professional. I care about building something real that can last, whether it’s my business, my legacy, or the energy I put into people around me. They’d also say I’m big on loyalty and purpose. I love seeing others win, but I also believe in protecting my peace and focusing on what’s meant for me. No matter what I go through, I always find a way to bounce back and turn pressure into power.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
What I understand deeply that most people don’t is that pain can be the foundation of purpose. I’ve learned that every setback, every loss, and every disappointment can be turned into fuel if you don’t give up. Most people see struggle as the end I see it as the beginning of transformation. I’ve been through moments that could’ve broken me, but instead, they built me. That’s why I move with gratitude, even through hard times. I understand that nothing happens by accident every season, good or bad, is shaping me for what’s next. My strength doesn’t come from what I have, it comes from what I’ve survived. And that’s something I carry deeply in everything I build, from my business to my legacy.
