An Inspired Chat with Thanh Nguyen

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Thanh Nguyen. Check out our conversation below.

Hi Thanh, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
I believe that if you have integrity in everything that you do, intelligence and energy will follow. We are all imperfect, but if you try to do the right thing when it doesn’t benefit you, then you will always be blessed with good things in life. I’ve learned that while gaining intelligence through experience is good, being a good person matters for being happy and fulfilled in life. Energy will naturally come when you do the things you’re passionate about and cherish moments.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Thanh Nguyen, founder and owner of Enchand Maison—a non-toxic candle and fragrance lifestyle brand born from my passion for creativity and wellness. What began as a hobby and artistic escape from the corporate world has ignited into a platform where I channel my love for travel, food, fashion, philosophy, design, health, and storytelling into every scent. The freedom to express these passions and collaborate with inspiring brands is what fuels me most. Currently, I’m working on expanding Enchand Maison beyond candles into a broader range of sustainable home goods.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who taught you the most about work?
My father was the first person to instill a strong work ethic in me, leading by example through his unwavering dedication to providing for our family and his constant emphasis on the value of hard work.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
I think suffering taught me discernment, resilience, and the importance of staying humble and kind. I’ve learned that everything is temporary, whether good or bad. People and things come and go at different phases of your life, but the ones who support you through the ups and downs are keepers.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
I resonate deeply with the Japanese philosophy that each of us carries three distinct selves: the public persona we present to the world, the more intimate self shared with close friends and family, and the innermost self known only to us. The public version of me is no less authentic—though it may appear more polished, perfectionistic, or reserved, it reflects a genuine facet of who I am. To live truthfully does not require full transparency; authenticity is not measured by how much we disclose, but by the integrity with which we choose what to share. Some parts of ourselves are sacred, and not every truth is meant for public consumption.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Everything I do is because I want to, so I would do my best for myself. I want to provide high-quality products that reflect things that I care about in life.
