Today we’d like to introduce you to Doeman.
Doeman, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
I was born and raised in the Southeast side of Houston, Texas. Growing up, I was always really into sports, especially boxing, that was definitely my passion. In 2013 I nearly lost my life in an accident while I was walking to a Golden Gloves tournament. During my recovery is when music really took over, and I found a new reason to live. Me and my team DYNA have been grinding, we’re here now, but we’re still never satisfied.
Can you give our readers some background on your art?
I create art for the purpose of hope. I want people to be inspired. I make music for not only my people but for all people going through a struggle. I want people to believe in their dreams. I want to shed light on real artistry. The real will always prevail.
What responsibility, if any, do you think artists have to use their art to help alleviate problems faced by others? Has your art been affected by issues you’ve concerned about?
From politics to the overall way of the world in this day, I feel like everything is so out of wack that artists have a responsibility to bring important matters to the forefront. We can’t just take up space and mental capacity spreading bullshit. It brings rage and anger into my music but also compassion for oppressed people such as myself.
What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
All of my music is on all major streaming services; Spotify, Apple Music, Youtube, Pandora, Tidal, Amazon, anywhere you can find music online you’ll find me.
