Art & Life with Dominique Reynosa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dominique Reynosa.

Dominique, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
Becoming a new mother to my son, Andrew, really drove my love for photography. I fell in love with taking photos of my son and husband but knew I wanted to make this more than just a hobby. I bought my first DSLR camera and taught myself how to use it relentlessly by watching videos, reading books about photography and most of all through trial and error. With a supportive husband, family and friends, the journey began. Not only did my desire and drive grow, but my desire to capture intimate life moments increased to a new level. Within the year, I booked my first Maternity photography session, the fulfillment that I endured while capturing that moment was indescribable, I knew photography was for me – I knew this was my element…this was where I could let my creativity out. This is also where I found my love for motherhood and family photography. Motherhood and family moments are unforgettable. The interactions between a mother, and her children, or family in general are always different sometimes there’s laughs, sometimes there’s cries but at the end of the day these moments are memories that can be cherished forever.

Can you give our readers some background on your art?
I am a Natural Light Photographer. I focus on Motherhood and families. I love capturing the candid moments between a mother and her children, siblings, and families in general. When I first started out, I would take non stop photos of my husband and son. Shortly, realizing that I did not have many photos of my son and I. This is a reason I love taking photos of mothers and their families, I feel that at times we get so stuck into our day to day lives and forget to capture and cherish the special moments with our loved ones, especially with our children.
