Art & Life with Hoyuky Delacruz

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hoyuky Delacruz.

Hoyuky, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
My name is Hoyuky or “Yuki” for short, I am a mother, Fiance & the 3 am baker. I started this journey by accident when my son was born in 2016. When you’re home for three months and with a crying New Born you stay up all night watching Cookie videos. I became obsessed with these royal icing characters coming to life in a cookie form. I decided after that, to give it a try. The next few months I stayed up late at night and experimented with recipes, icing flavors, and learned as much as possible to create edible art.

Can you give our readers some background on your art?
I make custom decorated sugar cookies in 2 different sizes, minis and full-size cookies. I can create them in any theme, designs or character inspiration. When my customers give me the freedom to create a special set for them, I get very excited. I get to make their ideas or themes come to life! When I make custom cookies, I hope my customers feel the appreciation I have for them through my designs.

How do you think about success, as an artist, and what do quality do you feel is most helpful?
Success can be defined in so many ways. As a Cookie Artist, I take it a little more personal and try to create a customer bond vs just a sale. I feel that creating a clientele is where your success comes from and for that you have to give 110% every time.

What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
I have two social media for my business. My Facebook page or my Instagram both under SweetSugarCrumbs, or my website, www.SSCrumbs.com, that has a lot of information and the ability to place an order request.
