Today we’d like to introduce you to Karanda Boutte.
Karanda, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
Commit thy way unto the lord trust also in him, and he shall bring it to pass psalms 37:5.
One of my favorite bible verses, I start this story off with that because many times as individuals we feel that we can accomplish things on our own, but the truth is everyone needs someone and a strong foundation behind them. I’m Karanda Kay, actress, dancer, choreography, creative, business-oriented, and humanitarian. I am From Houston, Tx I have a bachelors in fine arts and certified MT. Growing up, I always, I mean always love dancing it came very natural to me as well as acting. My parents did a great job of keeping me busy, I don’t remember having a full summer break, but it turned out great in the long run.
I fully started pursuing acting and dancing when I was a junior in high school.
After graduating college I dove deep into the entertainment industry where I started booking commercials, shows, and movies such as Murder Calls, Fatal Attraction, Twisted Minds, Super Bowl 50, etc.. I also started choreographing for artist and performing at major events.
Can you give our readers some background on your art?
My love for acting and dancing still continues today. The journey for me has been very amenable. I have had some very difficult moments and very gratifying moments that’s why it’s true when they say “do what you love, and you’ll never work a day in your life. “
For me the buoyant feeling of what I do is to inspire and uplift others through my work, whether it’s acting, dancing, helping, etc. that gives me a joy that money nor fame can buy. I also had a nonprofit organization called needy goody bags for the homeless where I go out personally and give much-needed essentials to individuals that are in need,
As of now, I had to take a slight hiatus and currently working with a doctor as a certified MT as well as filming for a new independent film project. I still audition and dance; however, I have no intentions on quitting and will continue this beautiful journey of living my purpose.
What responsibility, if any, do you think artists have to use their art to help alleviate problems faced by others? Has your art been affected by issues you’ve concerned about?
Yes, I believe it has changed significantly; however, I feel that you have to tap into your own essence and keep yourself grounded in the work. I do think that change is sometimes necessary; it gives you new material to work from.
What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
I am currently working on an independent film project so you can always follow my social media @karandakay where I will post upcoming projects or shoot me a quick email karandakay@gmail.com.
