Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Swank.
Michael, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
I’ve been singing my entire life. It just always felt so natural. Throughout high school, I was in choir, musical theatre, and I also sang in multiple bands.
I was granted the opportunity to go on my first tour ever with a new band called Myka Relocate after my first semester of college. That was the moment that I decided to fully pursue music. Since joining the band, we’ve written two full-length records and performed worldwide. Today, I produce my own songs and continue to sing over various genres of music.
Can you give our readers some background on your art?
I create dance music under the name ‘M.E. SWANK’. My tracks are percussively driven and full of energy. This project is all about having fun and not taking yourself too seriously, and I like to think that my music is a reflection of my personality.
In a live setting, I love throwing my audience curveballs and seeing how they react. Nothing feels better than watching a crowd go wild after hearing something that they didn’t expect.
Any advice for aspiring or new artists?
Doesn’t be afraid to take risks. Be confident in yourself and in your abilities, but always strive to be better. This outlook goes a long way. Be consistent and success will follow.
