Today we’d like to introduce you to Natalie Green.
Natalie, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
When I was little, I was into every art medium I could get my hands on. My favorites were charcoals and paints! As I got older, I got my first mental illness diagnosis. Time went on, my mental health got worse, and I stopped art all together. I just didn’t have any more energy to give to anything other than being alive. Now I’m an adult, and I’ve found a new art medium that I’m so passionate about. When I’m in front of the camera, all of my fears, my problems, my doubts just vanish. Modeling is so much more than posing to me. For me, it’s about letting go, being free, and connecting with the world around you!
Can you give our readers some background on your work?
I’m a model. I get the privilege of working with some awesome photographers, to bring visions and ideas to life! From twisted cosplays to fantasy, to lifestyle, to boudoir! I like to do it all.
This is something I’ve been striving towards for most of my life. I had setbacks. I lost confidence. I thought I was never going to make it. Once I finally did my first shoot, I fell in love with the art and with myself. After all, I’m not the average model. I’m not 5’7”+, I’m 5’2”. I’m not a size 2, I’m plus sized. My body type isn’t typically the type you’d see in magazines, but it’s realistic. I want to be a realistic model, that women feel inspired by. I want those that see my photos to feel like they don’t have to look like an Instagram model to feel beautiful.
What would you recommend to an artist new to the city, or to art, in terms of meeting and connecting with other artists and creatives?
It’s the truth. It does get lonely out here. I suggest going to meetups, or finding online groups with others in the industry! So many people are willing to offer tips and tricks!
Putting yourself out there is a big thing, but it’s so beneficial! Don’t be scared of it.
Take risks!
Do what YOU like and what makes YOU happy!
The key to beautiful art is passion. Connect with your subject, and let go. Lose control. Be you.
What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
My Instagram is the best way to support me and get a hold of me! @liddotalie
