Art & Life with Richard and Michelle Bledsoe

Today we’d like to introduce you to Richard Bledsoe and Michelle Bledsoe.

Richard and Michelle, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
Both of us had a passion for photography from a young age. We happened to be lucky enough to meet in college at Sam Houston State University while studying photography. After dating for a few years, we got engaged! Our wedding photography was so important to us (as photographers ourselves) and after finding a photographer, our wedding day was shaping up to be exactly how we had pictured. A wedding day goes by in the blink of an eye and ours was no different. After our wedding, we eagerly waited for our wedding photos. When we finally received our wedding photos, we were beyond disappointed. Missing moments, blurry photos, and dark images… We were and still are completely heartbroken. We took one look at one another and vowed that no other couple would feel how we do about their wedding photos. We then put our photography degrees to good use and started up our company, R and M Bledsoe Photography. After being in business for a few years, we decided to focus on weddings. Our clients aren’t just clients, but friends who we are sure to be there for, every step of the way.

Can you give our readers some background on your art?
We want to create wedding/engagement/bridal images that our clients will cherish for their entire lives. Photographs that are so classic and timeless, their children will look at their images and be inspired. Heirloom products and images with elegant, bright edits are what fuels our passion.

How do you think about success, as an artist, and what do quality do you feel is most helpful?
As artists, we define success as pride in your work and what you have accomplished. We also feel that photography (or any art form) should uplift and inspire. We work hard and put our hearts and souls into what we do and are proud of what we deliver to our clients. When we evoke the emotions of our clients, it truly defines and gives meaning to the art that we create of their lives. There is no better feeling to us. Being sure to capture your audience and being fulfilled in what you do is the core definition of what our art is to us.

What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
