Check out Alexandra Carreno Haines’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexandra Carreno Haines.

Alexandra, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today.
Adored by Alex was born towards the end of my junior year of college, upon realizing that I could marry my love for writing and my long-held admiration of all things fashion, into one. At the encouragement of family and friends (who were always asking me where they could find my outfits), Adored by Alex formed as an online catalogue to share the things I adore in all realms of my life. Upon graduating, I accepted a job in public relations and stayed in the field for three years, while continuing to blog on the side. Ultimately, I realized my corporate job wasn’t the right fit, so I turned in my letter of resignation. While searching for other jobs, I put more effort into Adored by Alex and began seeing returns from my efforts. I decided to take a leap of faith and began blogging full-time, and have been running my own business and blog ever since. Adored by Alex turned eight years old in May. And while it started out as a place where I shared pretty much everything I adored, it has since evolved into a place where I share fashion – my personal outfits – beauty, lifestyle, and travel.

We’d love to hear more about your blog. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
At Adored by Alex, we strive to offer the everyday gal the tools to feel confident and empowered through style. With candid tips and glimpses into my personal life, I share my passion for style, living well and discovering adventure in the realms of eating, traveling and learning about myself and others along the way. At ABA, I hope to share with readers lifestyle and travel guides, ways to style, mix and match high and low-end closet items and offering shopping advice that readers can be confident in.

What do you know now that you wished you had learned earlier?
Trust your intuition and gut feelings, and don’t be afraid to ask for help. I’ve learned the hard way through my personal business endeavors that our intuition is most often the best predictor of right or wrong. Simultaneously, I wish I hadn’t been as stubborn in the beginning, and actually sought out help or asked when I needed advice or direction. Now, I love bouncing off ideas with others and outsourcing items that I otherwise wouldn’t be able to handle completely on my own – it’s one of the best decisions I could’ve ever made, and learned, for my business.
