Today we’d like to introduce you to Anghelov Medina.

Anghelov, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
Originally from Cali, Colombia, I now live in Richmond, TX with my wife and two beautiful sons. Inspired by the birth of my first son, I became interested in photography and begin taking classes and reading books to study the art of making photos.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I love to create portraits that are stylistic and edgy. I start by having a concept and mood that I want to create. I scout locations and then use a combination of natural light and strobes to create the effect. I hope to convey through my photos the personality and character of my subject in a unique perspective.

How can artists connect with other artists?
I highly encourage people that are interested in photography to come out to Insta meet ups or other photography social events. It’s a great opportunity to network and meet other people that are interested in photography. Ask lots of questions and seek feedback on your work. Be open and willing to listen to the feedback from other artists. Most importantly, never stop growing and learning more.
