Today we’d like to introduce you to Gash The Reaper.
Gash, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I moved a lot as a kid. So, I had much of temporary friends. I am the middle child so anything I did I wouldn’t get in trouble for. I stayed in fights. But when my baby brother passed away, I took that new anger and placed it into my music and skin.
We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I create rage music by releasing the fury I have in my soul into the microphone. I did this at first to relieve my stress and anger. But it would come back always. Then a friend heard my track and told me “Bro, you need to take this serious! This is fire!” So since then, I’ve been taking it seriously. I hope the message that gets from my art is that pain is a human feeling and balance is a task we all need to achieve. My art is always from my heart and my mind along with the spirits around.
Do current events, local or global, affect your work and what you are focused on?
I feel artists now have a voice. Like an activist. They can influence the audience more than commercials and leaders in our society today. When bad events happen, my art gets heavy. When I say heavy I mean it gets real gritty and hurtful to some.
Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
People can repost my music, tell a friend, or can follow on any social media @gashthereaper and just comment and show love when new music comes.
