Check out Hailee Jane’s Artwork

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hailee Jane.

Hailee, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I was born in Tacoma Washington, but call Alexandria Virginia home. I lived in Virginia for ten years before coming to Texas for school. Ive kinda always been an artist, I was drawing and painting all of my childhood. Once starting my undergrad program at McMurry University, I began working with ceramics and really fell in love with it. Now I work with both 2D and 3D mediums.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
Most importantly my work talks about how it’s ok to talk about your emotions and mental health. All of my work comes from my own emotions and talk about how I feel. Something I’ve really been vocal about in my art is how God has played a role in my life. I create art to pay thanks to God and communicate to others that anxiety and depression can be overcome. I really want people to know others feel the way they do and that their emotions are valid. I use clay, paint, photography, and foam to communicate what I’m feeling through the human form, flowers, and the use of color.

How can artists connect with other artists?
Go to gallery openings. Follow other artists social media. Just be active in supporting other artists. Also seeking higher education in the arts can help you find friends and a family to support you through the difficult times.

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
I currently run two active Instagram accounts one as a portfolio, H.J.Art.Design and the other as updates for work throughout the making process, artbyhaileejane. Anyone can message or follow me there and I also have a facebook page HaileeJane @h.j.art.design.
