Check Out Heaven Barriere’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Heaven Barriere.

Heaven, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Hi my name is Heaven Barriere! I was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana by two amazing human beings who are full of creativity, life, and love. Without them, I would not be the person I am today. Growing up, I was always surrounded by the arts whether it was my mom planning and organizing musical productions or my dad blasting Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, and so many other great artists. As a little girl, I always loved to play dress up and creating different scenarios in my head but I never really thought much of it. At that moment, I just thought of it as a hobby or something I did for fun, but I did not see it as a possible career path. Now I know that I can do anything I put my mind to because all my life, I’ve been told I can. My dad who is a pastor, themed & preached a sermon in Jan of 2020 that this was the year of focus. After hearing his sermon, I wrote down what I would focus on and modeling as one of my choices not knowing that I would have grown so much and collaborated with so many beautiful people. Even though 2020 was a year where everything seemed like it was falling apart, it was actually coming together for me. I was able to be a part of over 10 photoshoots and directed my own short film. I can’t wait to see what this year holds!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My road has just started, but throughout this short period of time it has been a great ride so far. I love creating my own concepts when modeling. I would consider my first real shoot to be a photoshoot done for a party promotion called “knowhere the ladies at”. Before then I only took pictures to show off my outfit, but after stepping out my comfort zone I fell in love with modeling more than I thought I ever would.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I would consider myself an all-around creative but my main passion is film. Even though I am known for my modeling, I cannot wait until the world sees my films! I directed my first short film last year and I am really proud of myself for pushing through the self-doubt and fear. It is set to be released later this year. I am also proud that I started a podcast this year with one of my good friends Zontre City called “trust you will be dealt with”. We release an episode every Sunday on YouTube, Spotify, and apple podcasts where we talk about any and everything. I think what sets me apart from others is that I am not afraid of getting out of my comfort zone when it comes to modeling and I love being able to dress up and become a different personality in front the camera.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc.?
A few apps that help me do my best in life are Pinterest, insight timer, and YouTube. Pinterest is my favorite because it gives me inspiration in many areas whether it’s for modeling, drawing, or even posters. I also love the app insight timer which focuses on meditation it is a hub containing thousands of free meditation and music tracks that help me start my day off right. Last but not least, I am on YouTube more than any other streaming service watching interviews, fashion shows, music videos, and short films to help inspire my creativity. I love gaining knowledge no matter what I am doing. All these apps collects and redistribute knowledge, which further inspires my creativity.
