Today we’d like to introduce you to Jacobe Pace.
Jacobe, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
Absolutely, I was born n raised in Houston, Tx. My passion and love for art has always been present in my life! Drawing has always been a hobby of mine as there was alot of classmates that would want me to draw their favorite cartoons in class. All the 90’s throwback cartoons, Dragon ball Z, and even dinosaurs. This was when the first Jurassic Park came out lol. Onto later my work transformed into drawing and painting personal custom portraits. In the meantime of those transitions of evolving my artwork. My influence has come from other passions as well, which include traveling and getting the opportunity to see some parts of the world. Motorsports I deeply love the creations of machines that move us with an adrenaline kick! If you know what I mean lol. The love for sports and athletics and personally playing in multiple activities. These things have all helped into what I love to create! My city is also a huge influence on what I visually create! Houston is a beautiful city. I have lived here my entire life and seen it grow before my eyes. Musically, artistically, and architecturally. I am amazed by what communities have done to unite, and present amazing work and character to the Bayou! I carry that heavy with pride anywhere I go as Htown is a huge part of me! 🏾 I started my business of “JP Designs” which features providing custom artwork and designer clothing apparel to the public. My brand is featured in Houston store Homme located in Plazamericas. Come stop by the shop and check it out!
We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
My work consists of multiple mixed media presented onto a canvas or digital media creation. I have a wide range of styles that I love to create from. Which includes cartoons, personal portraits, graffiti art, animals, custom idea works from clients. I have a very broad range of how, I can create a visualization off an idea. The message will be presented within itself from the work created. Every line, every shade, every detail will speak uniquely for itself to give a message to the audience viewing my work or any artists work of creation in general! My inspiration comes in many different forms as I’m involved in other passions that keep me going! It’s a good feeling when you inspire an individual to get back to something they once loved or to help motivate another to continue pushing their dreams! What I hope people take away with them is a treasured piece created with pure heart and soul to have for a lifetime. Whatever they please with the work, I hope they enjoy it just as much as I did creating it! Lastly what the good people should know is all work is created uniquely by my left hand as I am a left-handed artist! Fun Fact
Artists face many challenges, but what do you feel is the most pressing among them?
I would say getting out there. What I mean by that is stop holding yourself back. Stepping out of your normal comfort zone and giving your all into something you love! We often fight ourselves or debate if we should do this or wait another time for that. But straight up we just need to do it! Network with one another and help eachother! We ourselves are the biggest challenge that we face. I can speak from personal experience of dealing with it. From drawing pics for fun to now being a Professional Artist and managing my clothing line. It took structuring time and alot of self-discipline to reach these goals of visually seeing in a mental aspect. To personally and physically achieving these dreams to become a reality! I believe anyone that wants to reach their dreams can do it as well!! Truly believe in yourself and don’t give up! Remember to always take it step by step. As we all fall sometimes, and we all take losses. But how we get back up and continue to climb over those obstacles mold us to become even stronger and wiser as we continue the journey of growing!
Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
