Hi Juwan, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve been doing photography for a solid two years now consistently. I had never planned on being a photographer. It just came to me. I always knew I wanted to do something in the art/fashion field; I just didn’t know what it would be.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Nope, not at all. I deal with a lot of things with photography, trying to find what works for me and not be too repetitive but also be able to have my own style. I try to find inspiration from within instead of looking for different images to pull from.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Landscape images and portraits are things I find myself doing the most. I’ve been known for creating things that aren’t there and taking what I have to make something special. The stories I tell through my images sets me apart from others because of my compensation. Being from Louisiana, you don’t get fashion editorials from black people. We often see ourselves in urban style photography.
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
I was waking up to Christmas gifts under the tree.
