Today we’d like to introduce you to Linda Drake.
Linda, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
Photography started out as a hobby for me. That hobby turned into doing portrait photography, which I still enjoy doing, but I am taking it in a direction where there is more intention or a story behind the photograph.
We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I like my photographs to have an artistic and dreamy aspect to them. I try to find the beauty in everything but to me it’s best when I can find beauty in the most unexpected.
The sterotype of a starving artist scares away many potentially talented artists from pursuing art – any advice or thoughts about how to deal with the financial concerns an aspiring artist might be concerned about?
Setting up a shoot doesn’t have to cost a lot of money, you just have to be resourceful. You could find wardrobe at Thrift Stores or a little digging online or simply by using things around your house. You could also try bartering with small local businesses.
Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
