Check out Mariana Barran Goodall’s Artwork

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mariana Barran Goodall.

Mariana, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I started stitching when I was a little girl. I was at a catholic school where the nuns taught us how to embroider and I loved it since the very first moment. Ever since then I would embroider for fun. After I got married I decided to take my passion to the next level, and that’s how Hibiscus Linens was born.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
Every piece that we have is made by hand, from embroidery to crochet lace and hemstitching. We get our exquisite fabric from the best, do the sketch, and then stitch the design for our clients.

We hope our clients are happy with the unique pieces that we create for each one of them.

Artists face many challenges, but what do you feel is the most pressing among them?
I think many people have forgotten the beauty on hand made pieces, and also the time it takes to design and finish our linens. We are facing a time where everything is fast made by machines and technology.

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
You can see our work on our website www.hibiscuslinens.com, and if you live in Houston or are visiting you can come check out our studio! Our location is 3229 Milam St. Houston Tx 77006. We are open from 10 am until 6pm from Monday to Friday. We love to teach this beautiful art, if you are interested you can sign up for our classes online.
