Meet Melanie Meeks

Today we’d like to introduce you to Melanie Meeks.

Melanie, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I started my career with Kirksey Architecture in Houston. As part of the marketing department, I was exposed to the beautiful architectural design work the firm was doing and really came to love the architecture, engineering and design (AEC) industry through that ten-year stint of my career. In 2003 I decided to start my own business and became a marketing consultant in the same industry. At Meeks Marketing, Inc. we have the privilege of helping a variety of different companies within the AEC industry with their marketing initiatives and ultimately help them to win more work. There is a lot of creativity and strategy involved and as a team of five, we each have unique things to offer our clients.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
As marketers for professional service firms, we utilize writing and photography to explain to potential clients what the firms we represent have to offer. Through graphic design and technical writing, we convey to others the passion and expertise of our clients.

Do current events, local or global, affect your work and what you are focused on?
For us, the most rapidly changing thing about our industry and the marketing profession specifically is technology. We used to produce quite a bit of printed content and knew the audience would be physically holding and flipping through the information we were compiling. Now so much of what we create is viewed electronically and in a shorter amount of time. It’s a challenge to find ways to get and keep the attention of the audience we are wanting to reach.

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
Our website is www.meeksmarketing.com and we are on all of the social media platforms.
