Check out Nikia Paden’s Artwork

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nikia Paden.

Nikia, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
My Photography journey began with one of Motherhood’s most necessary activities… taking pictures of your mini’s. It evolved from styling them in obnoxiously cute outfits & simply placing them in front of Instagram worthy locations to actually finding the beauty in the unexpected and the wonder of every small detail. Simply taking pictures transformed the way I observed my environment. Every setting was observed in its potential as a session backdrop. Whether it was an ordinarily pleasing location to an obliterated construction site, my eyes were continuously taking mental snapshots on how environments would look photographed.

So, with the support & motivation from some very important people in my life, Iridescent Photography came to fruition about 2 years ago. It was such a natural transition for this stay at home mom who was looking for a way to channel & utilize all the creative ideas that took over my thoughts. The slightest thing can be the imperative spark to a full-blown creative session that is usually full of bold & vibrant colors.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
The majority of my work is full of vibrant colors therefore always putting on display my obsession with ROYGBIV. When someone sees my work, I want them to know that it all usually begins with a crazy idea that turns into a wild creative adventure that’s usually full of much needed nonsense & tons of imagination. My work is meant to cause major reminiscing & extract all the Smiles.

What do you think it takes to be successful as an artist?
I feel that success is continuously being inspired by the things around you, taking that inspiration & being excited to make it uniquely your own. Success is a relentless need to push your own boundaries & steadily finding ways to learn more about what you love. I like to think that, Life is the Art of Failing Magnificently… therefore if I don’t live and breathe where failure isn’t amongst the possibilities, then I’m not really living to my life’s fullest potential.

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
Make your way on over to my website to see more of my work. However, to see all of my most recent work head on over to my social media platforms where I am definitely more active. If you or anyone you know wants a little nonsense in their lives with fun, vibrant & colorful images to match, please check me out!
