Check Out Ada Bishop’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ada Bishop.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My name is Ada Bishop. I am originally from El Salvador. I’d like to focus on my journey in health and wellness. I began as a barre client in Oklahoma City and quickly fell in love with the method. I had just had my second baby so it was important for me to find gentle but effective movement as well as a community who enjoyed working out as much as I did. Group fitness checked a lot of boxes and it also guided me in my journey in nutritional wellness. All of those things combined would eventually lead me to audition to become a group fitness instructor and even embark on a 10-month course to become a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner. As an instructor at Motiv Fitness, my goal is to help every single client find joy in movement. Our classes are challenging but rewarding. Each client is so much stronger than they realize and if I can help them acknowledge that, then my day feels complete! Becoming a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner felt like the most organic step in my health and wellness journey. I am equipped to help clients with a wide range of nutritional assistance but my biggest joy is helping my clients understand that nutritional wellness doesn’t have to be complicated.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Studying to become a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner has been an academic challenge! It has been a while since I was a student and the course, while entirely online, has a lot of deadlines and a lot of challenging material. I split my time between teaching, raising two amazing daughters, and managing my household. But I have had so much “fun” learning more than I ever thought about digestion, glucose regulation, hydration, supplement support, and stress management.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a fitness instructor at Motiv Fitness and (soon, I graduate in a few weeks) a Nutritional Therapy Practioner.

I (hope) I am known for challenging and motivating fitness classes and FIRE playlists.

I’m proud of how I communicate with others. I love meeting people and sharing my love for health and wellness!! I feel like this is what sets me apart from others. Connecting and meeting people where they are is easily one of my favorite experiences.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
For anyone who is thinking about auditioning to become a fitness instructor: DO IT! There’s a reason you want to lead others in the movement so lean into that! For any new instructors: Stay the course. No one else can do it like you!

I wish I’d told myself to just genuinely be myself. There’s so much joy and freedom in just doing that.
